The club is currently at the bottom of the league table with only ten points and is in danger of recording the lowest points total in Premier League history.

Juric`s departure from St Mary`s comes less than a day after the club`s relegation to the Championship was confirmed.

Assistant coach Simon Rusk will manage the team for the remainder of the season, with current midfielder Adam Lallana supporting him as a player-coach.

Lallana, a former England international and Premier League winner with Liverpool in 2020, rejoined St Mary`s last summer on a free transfer, signing a one-year deal.

Southampton`s official statement acknowledged Juric`s arrival during a challenging period, tasked with improving the squad`s performance in a difficult situation.

The club expressed disappointment in the lack of progress but thanked Juric and his staff for their efforts to prevent relegation.

With relegation now a reality, Southampton aims to provide clarity for fans, players, and staff regarding the future, especially during the crucial summer period.

The search for a new manager to lead the team`s push for Premier Leaguereturn has commenced, overseen by Group Technical Director Johannes Spors.

The club conveyed gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support throughout the tough season, emphasizing their remarkable dedication and passion.

Despite the difficulties of relegation, Southampton`s priority is to restore pride in the team and the club for its supporters.

Juric initially signed an 18-month contract upon succeeding Russell Martin on December 21, which included a break clause for review at season`s end.

His 107-day tenure ranks as the 11th shortest managerial stint in Premier League history, just surpassing Claudio Ranieri`s time at Fulham in 2018-19 by a single day.

Juric`s average of 0.29 points per game is the lowest for any manager with ten or more Premier League matches under their belt.

Southampton players were informed of the decision on Monday morning, with Juric`s coaching staff also expected to depart. Settlement negotiations are underway for Juric and his team.

During his time, Juric secured only two victories: an FA Cup third-round match against Swansea and a league victory at Ipswich.

He suffered defeats in 13 of his 16 games, leading to Southampton`s record-time relegation with seven games remaining. This relegation in GW31 surpasses the previous earliest relegations of Ipswich and Derby County.

Southampton is also at risk of achieving the lowest ever points total in the Premier League, potentially falling below Derby`s 2008 record of eleven points.

In a post-match statement after relegation was confirmed, Juric praised the fans` incredible support, describing it as a new and unique experience. He expressed gratitude for their unwavering love for the team despite relegation, highlighting the distinct English and Southampton culture of showing support in difficult times.

While not addressing his exit directly after the game, Juric had suggested his willingness to stay and rebuild, acknowledging the team`s youth and potential while pointing out the significant gap in quality and physicality compared to other Premier League teams.

He also criticized the club`s recruitment strategy, emphasizing its critical role in football and the need to learn from past mistakes to build a stronger future.

Southampton`s current season stands in stark contrast to their previous Championship campaign, where a 22-match unbeaten run led to Premier League promotion. Under Sport Republic`s ownership, the club has experienced a cycle of relegation, promotion, and relegation again within three seasons.
