Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier Wrestling Match Reportedly Near Confirmation

MMA News

A highly anticipated wrestling match between former UFC rivals Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier is reportedly close to being finalized. Alfredo Auditore, CEO of ALF Global, has confirmed that discussions are underway to set up this showdown within their PWL league.

The animosity between Jones and Cormier has been well-documented, with the two serving as opposing coaches on a recent season of ALF Reality. Despite their past encounters, the rivalry persists, with Jones reportedly still holding a grudge against Cormier.

Auditore expressed optimism about the potential event, stating, “We’ve organized a wrestling match between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier in our PWL league. It’s nearly confirmed from both sides.” This event would offer Cormier a chance to secure a victory over Jones outside the octagon, a scenario he has openly desired.

However, Daniel Cormier himself remains skeptical about the match materializing. He believes Jon Jones will ultimately refuse the challenge, citing his own perceived dominance in wrestling against “Bones.” Cormier stated, “Jon Jones and I. That is a 10-0 match. Every single time. I know it. And he knows it.” He added, “Here’s the problem, though… Reality is… You don’t have to goad me into this wrestling match. I know as a fact I’ll beat him 10-0… He will not wrestle me. He won’t do it.”

Cormier also revealed that both he and Jones were offered substantial seven-figure paydays for this wrestling contest. Despite the lucrative offer, the former Olympic wrestler believes Jones is hesitant to accept, fearing it could tarnish his legacy should he lose on the wrestling mat, where Cormier feels he has a clear advantage.
