In the main event of PFL Pittsburgh on Saturday, Johnny Eblen delivered an absolutely dominant performance against Bryan Battle.
Eblen immediately sought to establish his superiority over the former UFC standout, and he succeeded convincingly. Within the first minute, he secured a body lock and relentlessly slammed Battle three times onto the canvas, fiercely impacting “The Butcher” with each throw. Battle endured three more slams before Eblen strategically positioned himself on his back.
With less than a minute remaining in the opening round, Eblen expertly applied a rear-naked choke, compelling Battle to tap out.
Official Result: Johnny Eblen defeated Bryan Battle via submission (rear-naked choke) at 4 minutes, 10 seconds of Round 1.
This victory was a significant statement for Eblen, who was returning from his first career loss against Costello van Steenis at PFL Africa last year. With this win, “Pressure” (Eblen’s nickname) is now likely to earn a rematch with van Steenis, setting up one of the most highly anticipated bouts of the year for MMA enthusiasts.
