Joffrey Lauvergne, the 34-year-old French basketball player, has openly expressed his desire to conclude his professional career with Partizan Belgrade. Lauvergne previously played for the Serbian club from 2012 to 2014 before making his move to the NBA, and now envisions a return.
“I have always stated that I want to finish my career at Partizan. That is my objective. We will see if it becomes possible in the future, but that is my deepest wish,” the former French international declared.
Lauvergne emphasized that the specific conditions of a potential return are not his primary concern.
“It doesn’t matter to me. I just want to finish my career at Partizan. I heard that the president had suggested I come back. We’ll see,” he reiterated.
This statement aligns with previous remarks from Partizan president Ostoja Mijailovic, who has indicated his desire for the veteran big man to rejoin the team, possibly as early as this season and in subsequent ones. Lauvergne’s immediate situation has also seen a recent change, as he had to depart Kuwait a few days ago due to ongoing conflict in Iran.
