Joey Barton, the former football player recently convicted of assaulting his wife, is facing further trouble as his company, Joey Barton Promotions, may be forcibly closed.
The company has been ordered to be struck off for failing to submit its legally required financial accounts on time.

Companies House is initiating the process to strike off Joey Barton Promotions because the firm has not published its required accounts.
The company is liable for an initial fine of £375 for the late submission, which was due by Christmas Eve. This fine will double to £750 if the accounts are not submitted by April 1.
The last published financial records for the business, dating back to 2022 and released in June 2023, revealed a deficit of £58,539.
At that time, the company`s assets included a mere £2,301 in cash, computer equipment valued at £1,958, and an outstanding debt of £148.
Adding to Barton`s woes, this week he received a suspended jail sentence for assaulting his wife at their London home in June 2021.
Barton, 42, was found guilty of assault and received a 12-week suspended sentence for two years. This means he will avoid prison unless he commits another offense during this period.
His wife, Georgia Barton, 38, sustained a head lump and nosebleed in the assault that occurred in Kew.
On the night of the incident, Barton was arrested in his bedroom while still intoxicated, as disclosed in Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
Barton`s history is marked by violent incidents, including burning a teammate`s eye with a cigar, assaulting Ousmane Dabo to unconsciousness, and a previous six-month jail term for assaulting two individuals in Liverpool.
Additionally, Barton holds a significant stake in Resolve Energy, a management consultancy with 26 employees and assets nearing £670,000.
