UFC middleweight contender Joe Pyfer has spoken out regarding his withdrawal from his highly anticipated bout against fellow American fighter Kelvin Gastelum.
The match was originally slated to be a key event at UFC on ESPN 64, held in the vibrant setting of Mexico City.
Pyfer conveyed his deep regret, stating, “My heart is breaking that I can`t compete tonight. I felt genuinely unwell, and I`m hoping we can reschedule this fight in the coming weeks.”
He further elaborated on the situation on social media platform X, saying, “Unfortunately, these kinds of issues can arise when traveling internationally. I will definitely be more cautious moving forward. Please accept my sincere apologies. I`ll be back in the Octagon soon.”
