Jalen Brunson Stars in Nike Kobe Ad Alongside Natalia Bryant

NBA News

Nike`s latest advertisement for the Kobe 3 Protro sneaker features a notable appearance by New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson.

The two-time NBA All-Star shares the screen with Natalia Bryant, eldest daughter of the legendary Kobe Bryant.

The commercial depicts Brunson entering a New York jewelry store, seeking `something special.` Amidst various gems, an pristine all-white Kobe 3 Protro captures his attention. As Bryant polishes the sneakers, Brunson inquires about her task.

When Brunson attempts to handle the shoe, she promptly withdraws it, retorting, `You reach, I teach.` Bryant then subjects Brunson to a series of questions, evaluating his worthiness for the footwear. She concludes that while he `might be ready,` she remains `not convinced,` subsequently dismissing him.

These sneakers represent the highly anticipated return of the iconic model Kobe Bryant sported during his MVP-winning 2007-08 season. Nike states they are engineered for contemporary basketball while simultaneously honoring Kobe`s enduring legacy. This particular re-release marks Nike`s most comprehensive Kobe Protro initiative thus far.

A distinctive element of the design includes new diamond-shaped patterns on both the upper and outsole, a tribute to Natalia, whose middle name is Diamanté.

Brunson is a well-known devotee of Kobe`s signature footwear. During the 2025 NBA playoffs, he was seen wearing a `Hyper Turquoise` Kobe 6 player edition, drawing inspiration from the Statue of Liberty. Furthermore, for his career-best 61-point performance in March 2024, he chose the Kobe 6 Protro Grinch sneakers.

The all-white Kobe 3 Protro is scheduled for release this Saturday, coinciding with what would have been Kobe`s 47th birthday.
