Three Premier League clubs are reportedly vying for the signing of Jadon Sancho.
The winger, formerly of Borussia Dortmund, has returned to Manchester United following Chelsea`s decision not to make his loan move permanent.
New Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim reportedly does not include the player in his plans, suggesting Sancho will be seeking a fresh start away from the club.
Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur, and Newcastle United are understood to be monitoring the situation.
Villa is reportedly interested in a loan deal, but Manchester United prefers a cash sale to generate funds for squad rebuilding.
Both Newcastle and Tottenham view Sancho as a viable option to strengthen their squads as they aim to compete in domestic leagues and the Champions League.
His former club, Borussia Dortmund, were also linked but have since signed Jobe Bellingham instead.
Despite scoring during his time at Chelsea, including in the Europa Conference League campaign, Sancho was unable to secure a permanent £25 million transfer to the London club.
Chelsea had loaned Sancho with an option for a permanent £25 million transfer but ultimately chose not to activate the clause, instead paying a reported £5 million penalty.
With Sancho`s departure, Chelsea are now reportedly looking at other wing targets, including Jamie Bynoe-Gittens of Borussia Dortmund and Nico Williams of Athletic Bilbao.
Furthermore, Chelsea are reportedly linked with Sancho`s Manchester United teammate, Alejandro Garnacho. There are suggestions that Garnacho might also face challenges with the new manager, Ruben Amorim, similar to Sancho`s issues with Erik ten Hag, potentially leading to his exit.
Manchester United has reportedly placed a significant £70 million asking price on the Argentine winger.
Garnacho is seen as a valuable asset for United to potentially sell this summer, partly due to his homegrown status, despite having three years left on his current contract.
Chelsea confirmed Sancho`s return to Manchester United today via a statement on their official website.
“Sancho, 25 [Note: Age potentially incorrect in source], joined on a season-long loan on August 31, 2024, and made a total of 41 appearances for the club.
The winger scored five goals during his time at Stamford Bridge, with his final strike coming in the Blues` UEFA Conference League Final victory against Real Betis on May 28 [Note: Opponent and outcome of final likely incorrect in source].
Everyone at Chelsea would like to thank Jadon for his efforts and we wish him every success for the future.”
