Inter Milan Considers Selling Thuram and Bastoni Amid Financial Review

Football News

Inter Milan, having achieved a period of improved financial stability following its recent ownership transition, is reportedly considering the sale of pivotal players this summer. This potential move is driven by both financial objectives and tactical considerations, with Marcus Thuram and Alessandro Bastoni identified as the primary candidates for departure.

Reports indicate that Inter anticipates a significant transfer bid from Saudi Arabia for French striker Marcus Thuram. His performance has shown a noticeable decline this season, a dip potentially influenced by the rising prominence of Francesco Pio Esposito. Approaching his 29th birthday, Thuram might be seeking a lucrative final career contract. His current agreement with Inter extends until 2028, includes an annual salary of €6 million, and features an €85 million release clause. He has managed only one goal in 2026. While speculation has linked him to Juventus, such a transfer is deemed improbable; however, strong interest from Premier League clubs is expected.

Similarly, defender Alessandro Bastoni is another key Inter player who could be subject to transfer offers, having previously been associated with Barcelona. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter might proceed with one or two major player sales to generate funds for future acquisitions. Bastoni’s form is also reported to have diminished compared to prior seasons, leading to a revised market valuation closer to €50 million, down from an earlier estimate of approximately €70 million. An offer in this range could persuade the club’s management to consider a sale.
