Former two-division UFC champion Henry Cejudo is proposing a matchup between Ilia Topuria and Paddy Pimblett.
Cejudo stated, “I genuinely believe Paddy Pimblett`s next opponent should be Ilia Topuria. Why does this make sense? For Paddy, defeating Topuria would pave the way for a title shot. Similarly, a victory for Topuria would bring him closer to challenging for the championship. If Topuria views a fight with Pimblett as an easy win, why even consider Charles Oliveira? Topuria and Pimblett are currently two of the most prominent figures in MMA. Pimblett`s standing wouldn`t be significantly harmed by a loss to Topuria, and a win would dramatically increase his global popularity. Team Makhachev is urging Topuria to prove himself at lightweight, and what better way to do so than by facing a formidable lightweight like Pimblett?”
