Guerschon Yabusele Commits to Playing for French National Team This Summer

Sports News

The French national basketball team is set to boast a formidable lineup this summer! Following Victor Wembanyama’s commitment, Guerschon Yabusele, who captained “Les Bleus” during the last EuroBasket, has also announced his strong desire to participate in the upcoming international window in July.

“I commit to being there. After what happened last summer, it’s important that we are all together. I hope everyone will be available.”

France is scheduled to face Belgium and then Finland in crucial qualifiers, aiming to secure their ticket for the 2027 FIBA World Cup.

This is excellent news for head coach Freddy Fauthoux, especially as Yabusele, formerly of ASVEL, is finding his rhythm and performing well with the Chicago Bulls. Since his arrival in Chicago, he has been averaging 10.6 points and 5.6 rebounds.

Despite a challenging start to the season with the New York Knicks, where his venture quickly soured, Yabusele maintains a positive outlook and holds no grudges.

“I am not a resentful person. You shouldn’t be anyway, because you have to grow from the situations that happen to you. It’s just that sometimes, in the NBA, you encounter situations like that. Today, I am in a place where I can play, where I help the team, so I try to see things positively.”
