UFC icon Georges St-Pierre recently shared his perspective on the anticipated matchup between current heavyweight champion Jon Jones and interim titleholder Tom Aspinall.
Drawing from his own championship career, St-Pierre offered valuable advice to Aspinall:
“I remember after losing to Matt Serra I made the mistake of fixating on him and an immediate rematch. But I fought a few times before that happened. If Tom focuses solely on Jon Jones and Jones doesn’t come back quickly, Aspinall will focus on the wrong things. He needs to distract himself and think about what to do next.”
St-Pierre conveyed this message during an interview with journalist Ariel Helwani.
