Tennis sensation Coco Gauff is set to blend high fashion with athletic performance this spring and summer. The World No. 4 is collaborating with her long-time sponsor New Balance and the renowned Italian luxury house Miu Miu on a unique capsule collection for her on- and off-court style.
The 2023 US Open champion recently unveiled this new collection. It`s part of New Balance`s ongoing partnership with Miu Miu, the label established in 1993 by Prada`s lead designer, Miuccia Prada. Gauff is no stranger to Miu Miu off the court, having worn custom designs from the brand at events like the Oscars and for her April 2024 Vogue cover. However, this specific collaboration focuses on merging the worlds of sport and street style, creating head-to-toe looks Gauff will wear at select Hologic WTA Tour events.
Gauff plans to showcase three distinct, high-fashion outfits across three tournaments: the upcoming Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome, followed by events in Berlin in June and Cincinnati in August. Each match kit`s color palette will be inspired by its respective tournament location.
On the clay courts of Rome, Gauff will sport a “classically elegant” navy and white ensemble with red accents. For the grass courts in Berlin, she will switch to green and white with subtle sky-blue hints. Returning to the United States for the Cincinnati tournament, which she won two years prior, her look will feature a combination of fitting royal blue with additional red accents.
Each outfit is completed with coordinating silk zip-front hoodies and track pants. Gauff will also wear custom, jointly branded versions of her signature shoe, the Coco CG2, which have been redesigned specifically for this New Balance and Miu Miu collaboration.
Gauff, who has been sponsored by New Balance since 2018, shared her insights into the design process, stating, `I showed them what silhouettes I like, and we worked around that as a starting point.` She added, `We were like, `What can we do in tennis that has either never been done or been done very few times?“.
The complete New Balance x Miu Miu collection featuring Coco Gauff will be available for a limited time shortly after the US Open concludes. The public release is scheduled for September 10th.
