Has Fenerbahçe lost its winning touch? After an impressive run of 19 consecutive victories following the arrival of Nando De Colo, the Turkish basketball powerhouse now finds itself navigating a difficult period.
Defeated by Bursaspor (89-83) this past Sunday, the team has registered its fourth consecutive loss across all competitions.
This recent downturn has done little to calm the nerves of Istanbul’s head coach, Sarunas Jasikevicius, who was already visibly frustrated on Friday after his players’ defeat against Zalgiris Kaunas (82-92).
During the post-match press conference, the Lithuanian coach notably praised his former team, acknowledging their superior performance.
“The situation we’re in is that Zalgiris Kaunas is a better team than us at this moment in the season. […] They punished all our mistakes. Their percentages were incredible, and in some situations, we didn’t execute well on details.”
