ITV sports pundit Ian Wright has reportedly become the highest-earning commentator on television, with estimated profits nearing £2.2 million in the past year.
This income significantly surpasses that of his long-time friend and former England captain Gary Lineker, who earns £1.35 million from the BBC for hosting Match of the Day.

According to recent financial records for the 61-year-old former Arsenal star, his company, Elanar Ltd, achieved its most successful financial year to date, ending in July 2024.
An insider from the television industry commented, “These figures highlight Ian`s enduring popularity, both with viewers and with TV executives and advertisers, who clearly value him highly.”
His company`s financial statements reveal over £1 million in cash reserves. In the recent financial year, the company paid substantial corporation tax amounting to £549,000, indicating a profit of approximately £2.19 million for that period.
Beyond his work as a football pundit, Ian also benefits from other lucrative endorsements, such as advertising campaigns for major retailers like Marks & Spencer and Adidas.
ITV recently publicly supported him following a dispute with fellow presenter Eni Aluko, who had accused him of hindering opportunities for women in football.
She subsequently offered an apology, but he chose not to accept it.
A channel spokesperson later described him as “an incredible advocate, ally, and brilliant broadcaster for women’s football.”
