England and Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins has officially married his long-time partner, Ellie. Their wedding took place ten months after his memorable proposal at Italy`s picturesque Lake Como.
The 29-year-old striker, a key player for both his club and country, became engaged to Ellie, 28, in July of the previous year at the famous Italian lakeside destination.
Ellie had shared photos of the special moment on Instagram, showing Ollie kneeling on a scenic balcony adorned with beautiful white flowers, resembling snow. Both wore white attire for the proposal.
The couple recently announced their marriage on social media, just six days before Villa`s final Premier League match of the season against Manchester United.
Ellie`s celebratory Instagram post was simply captioned “Legally Mrs Watkins,” accompanied by a white heart and house emoji, confirming they had tied the knot.
The parents of two chose a classic look for their wedding ceremony. Ellie wore a beautiful lacy white dress, while Ollie opted for a traditional black suit, worn without a tie for a relaxed touch.
Well-wishes quickly flooded in after the announcement. Among the messages was one from Morgan Rodgers, who is a teammate of Watkins for both Aston Villa and England.
Rodgers responded to Ellie`s post by adding a red heart emoji, showing his support for the happy couple. Ellie`s wedding photo proved popular, garnering nearly 44,000 likes on Instagram within the first three hours.
One fan humorously remarked, suggesting they “Could have waited until the end of the season,” but quickly added, “Only joking – congrats, record breaker,” showing it was lighthearted banter.
Ollie and Ellie started dating in 2018 and have made their home together in Birmingham. Ellie`s twin sister, Sofie, often shares glimpses of the couple on her own Instagram.
Their family grew with the arrival of their first child, daughter Amara May, on September 15, 2021. Two years later, on April 17, their son, Marley, was born.
The proud parents previously shared a touching moment on social media when their daughter Amara met her younger brother Marley for the first time.
Now, the couple have celebrated their own big day, looking visibly joyful and content in their wedding picture, consistent with their many happy photos shared together.
