Former Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko appeared unrecognizable in a photo he posted online, revealing facial injuries sustained during international duty.
Dzeko, 39, played in Bosnia and Herzegovina`s 1-0 victory against Romania in a World Cup qualifier on Friday, but sustained significant bruising and injuries during the match.

The experienced striker shared a message on Instagram stating he is, "ALL IN or nothing", after being struck in the face by a Romanian defender during the game.
Dzeko sustained severe facial injuries, including two black eyes and a broken nose, which forced him off the field.
The Fenerbahce forward looked battered and bruised as he added these international injuries to a stitched eye and bandaged hand from recent club matches.
He even shared a picture of blood coming from his eye earlier this season while playing for his club.
His battered appearance prompted teasing comments from former teammates on his social media post.
Mario Balotelli commented: "You look nice in this".
Radja Nainggolan added: "You look great".
Anderson Talisca offered supportive words, writing: "Cheers brother! You will come back stronger".

Fenerbahce goalkeeper Ifran Can Egribayat simply wrote: "Legend".
Dzeko, who has won two Premier League titles with Man City, captains Bosnia and Herzegovina and holds the record for most appearances for his country.
He is also the nation`s all-time leading scorer, with 67 goals in 140 appearances.
Unfortunately, he will not be able to add to these records on Monday when Bosnia and Herzegovina plays against Cyprus, as his recent injury has ruled him out.
Fenerbahce reported that Dzeko is returning to Turkey for further medical evaluations and will miss the upcoming match.
Bosnia and Herzegovina coach Sergej Barbarez suggested Dzeko may have fractured his nose.
He stated: "I think Edin Dzeko’s nose is broken. He wasn’t in the dressing room. I don’t have full information yet".
