Derrick Lewis Discusses Phone Call with Donald Trump from Octagon

MMA News

UFC heavyweight Derrick Lewis spoke about the details of his phone conversation with former President Donald Trump, which took place right after his fight while he was still in the octagon.

Lewis explained that this particular post-fight moment was especially meaningful to him because he had the opportunity to speak directly with the President. He mentioned they began talking about business matters, and he suggested they hold off on a full discussion until he could visit the White House in person. Lewis expressed his gratitude for Trump taking the time to talk with him.

Lewis revealed he had previously asked UFC President Dana White for a few weeks to make the call to Donald happen. When asked about the specific topics covered, Lewis stated they discussed “terrorists and other matters.” He then humorously brought up the FBI, joking that he and others “actually don`t like them,” and that he felt it necessary to tell the President, “Hey, make sure my name isn’t on their list.”
