Della Maddalena: “Makachev is too small, I will beat him”

MMA News

Welterweight UFC champion Jack Della Maddalena has expressed strong confidence regarding a potential bout against former lightweight titleholder Islam Makhachev. Their fight is reportedly being planned for this fall.

Della Maddalena was quoted stating that this would be “the first defense of the dream title,” offering him the chance “to meet with the best fighter regardless of weight categories.” He also indicated a desire “to settle the score with him for Volkanovski,” referencing Makhachev`s previous fight against Alexander Volkanovski. Della Maddalena boldly declared Makhachev is “too small,” asserting, “He is too little, I will reach him.”

It is worth noting that Della Maddalena captured the welterweight championship in May by securing a unanimous decision victory over Belal Muhammad.
