Dana White Reluctant to Feature Jon Jones at White House Tournament

MMA News

UFC President Dana White has indicated his unwillingness to include Jon Jones in the fight card for the upcoming tournament scheduled to be held at the White House. White cited significant concerns about potential risks associated with Jones`s participation in such a high-profile, sensitive event.

“I am not prepared to take the chance of placing him in such a high-profile situation, particularly for an event at the White House, should any issues arise,” White explained during a press conference following UFC 318. His statement underscores a cautious approach to fighter selection for events with heightened scrutiny.

It`s worth recalling that Jon Jones had previously announced his retirement from mixed martial arts. However, it was later confirmed that he has re-entered the USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) testing pool, a mandatory step for any fighter looking to return to active competition.
