Crystal Palace have announced the departure of 20 players following their impressive 2024-25 campaign. The Eagles enjoyed a remarkable season, securing the FA Cup and earning a spot in the Europa League.
However, the club is now saying goodbye to a significant number of players as they prepare for the next season.
Veteran defender Joel Ward`s departure from Selhurst Park after 13 years was previously confirmed. The 35-year-old accumulated 364 appearances for the Eagles since signing from Portsmouth. Unfortunately, a calf problem affected his last year with the team, restricting him to only three games.
Jeffrey Schlupp is also set to leave after eight-and-a-half years with the club.
According to the official Premier League website, the following players are being released on free transfers: Cormac Austin, Chris Francis, Roshaun Mathurin, Louie Moulden, Kurainashe Musanhi, David Obou, Killian Phillips, Luke Plange, Jadan Raymond, Joe Sheridan, and Jack Wells-Morrison.
Chimaechi Eze, the brother of key player Eberechi Eze, is also among those released.
Additional players departing Selhurst Park include Freddie Cowin, William Eastwood, Joseph Khoshaba, Enruque Lameiras, Finley Marjoram, and Caleb Redhead.
Despite their Europa League qualification for the upcoming season, the Eagles face the possibility of being excluded from the tournament. This uncertainty arises because John Textor holds ownership interests in both Crystal Palace and Lyon, with Lyon also having qualified. UEFA regulations on multi-club ownership prohibit two clubs controlled by the same entity from participating in the same competition. A final decision regarding Palace`s eligibility is anticipated by the end of the current month.
