Conor McGregor Mocks Nate Diaz After Mike Perry’s Dominant Win, Demands Trilogy Fight

MMA News

Conor McGregor has publicly criticized his former UFC rival, Nate Diaz, in the aftermath of Diaz’s decisive TKO defeat to Mike Perry at MVP MMA 1 last weekend.

Diaz, making his return to MMA after a four-year hiatus, was thoroughly outmatched by Perry. The 41-year-old Diaz endured ten minutes of relentless punishment, leaving him visibly bloodied and bruised.

Due to the severity of the facial injuries and bleeding, Diaz’s corner made the decision to stop the fight. Consequently, Perry was declared the victor via TKO due to a doctor’s stoppage at the conclusion of the second round.

Despite the loss, Diaz has indicated that retirement is not on his immediate horizon and has expressed his willingness to face Perry again once he has recovered.

Conor McGregor was previously rumored to face Nate Diaz for a third time under the UFC banner. However, Diaz reportedly declined the offer, stating that it was not the opportune moment for such a fight, suggesting McGregor was in a vulnerable state.

McGregor is now slated to face Max Holloway at UFC 329 in his highly anticipated return bout. Following the announcement of his own fight, McGregor took a jab at Diaz on X, referencing Diaz’s previous comments about not wanting to fight him when he was perceived to be on his “last dying leg.” McGregor posted:

“I see why @NateDiaz209 didn’t take the fight lol. Anyway here’s to when I get my hands on you, you lanky streak of piss. #TrilogyAndIGonnaNeedMyMoney”
