Charles Oliveira’s Wife Fires Back At Mauricio Ruffy: “Don’t come trying to ride the wave of my husband”

Charles Oliveira, Mauricio Ruffy

Vitoria Brum, wife of UFC sensation Charles Oliveira, has issued a sharp rebuke to Mauricio Ruffy for his recent criticism of Oliveira’s performance at UFC 326.

Earlier this month, “Do Bronxs” successfully dethroned Max Holloway, claiming the BMF strap. In a commanding unanimous decision victory during the UFC 326 main event, Oliveira landed 110 total strikes, executed 5 takedowns, and maintained control for over 20 minutes.

Despite the dominant win, Oliveira’s wrestling-heavy approach in a BMF title fight – where many expected an all-out striking battle – drew significant criticism. Fans, analysts, UFC CEO Dana White, and even Nate Diaz, the visionary behind the BMF belt, were among those who voiced their disapproval.

Current two-time UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski also suggested that the promotion might consider retiring the BMF belt following the events of UFC 326. Most recently, Mauricio Ruffy joined the critics, telling Laerte Viana:

“[Charles] did what nobody expected, which was to stick to him [Max Holloway] from start to finish. If you go in just to grab someone, in the UFC business, you end up losing opportunities.”

The victor of the Max Holloway vs. Charles Oliveira 2 bout was widely rumored to face Conor McGregor upon his much-anticipated return, likely at International Fight Week in July.

However, Ruffy believes the UFC would lose interest in a potential “Do Bronxs” vs. McGregor matchup after what he described as the “UFC 326 snooze fest.” He added:

“Charles had an incredible fight, but surely the UFC won’t want to see him grabbing and holding [McGregor], and Conor won’t put himself in that position either.”

Charles Oliveira’s Wife Responds to Mauricio Ruffy

Charles Oliveira’s wife, Vitoria Brum, wasted no time in publicly addressing Mauricio Ruffy’s comments. Brum sharply reminded Ruffy that “this is f***ing MMA” and not simply boxing.

“Then let’s schedule a boxing match, because if you want a fight, this is f***ing MMA, there will be jiu-jitsu!”

She further emphasized her husband’s formidable record, stating:

“Ruffy, don’t come trying to ride the wave of my husband, because he has more submissions than you have fights!”

This statement highlights Oliveira’s 22 career submission victories, significantly surpassing Ruffy’s total of 15 professional fights.
