UFC star Charles Oliveira has voiced his strong disapproval of fellow fighters who publicly claim they are eager to step in as a last-minute replacement, only to decline the opportunity when the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) reaches out with an actual offer.
“It`s common knowledge that my planned bout with Fiziev isn`t happening,” Oliveira stated. “However, one shouldn`t put faith in those fighters who loudly declare, `I`m here and ready to fight.` When the UFC actually contacts them to make the fight, their typical response is, `Oh, I don`t have enough time to cut weight,` or `I simply can`t do it right now.` They post these kinds of statements on social media primarily to generate hype and buzz, but ultimately, it`s completely meaningless.”
He further elaborated, “I`ve repeatedly seen fighters make grand declarations of readiness, only to then provide a litany of convenient excuses—like a sudden stomach ache, a broken finger, or a small cut on their hand—when the UFC calls to solidify the fight. Enough is enough. This kind of behavior does not reflect well on anyone in the sport and lacks professionalism.”
