The Boston Celtics have unveiled their new 2025-26 City Edition uniform, designed to celebrate their rich history of victories.
On Wednesday evening, the team introduced the “Gold Standard” uniform, symbolizing the Celtics` “timeless tradition of winning.”
This uniform features a white base with gold accents. The numbers and the “Boston” inscription are also rendered in gold, highlighting the franchise`s numerous achievements throughout its history.
Player names and the numbering outlines are in black. This marks the first uniform in the club`s history not to feature the traditional green color.
Just above the jock tag, Red Auerbach`s signature is visible. Auerbach, the Celtics` former head coach for 16 seasons (1950-1966), led Boston to nine NBA championships, including a historic run of eight consecutive titles from 1959 to 1966. His coaching record includes 795 wins and 397 losses in regular seasons, and 90 wins and 58 losses in the playoffs with Boston.
On the back of the jersey`s neckline, an 18-time champion patch commemorates the club`s 18 NBA titles, from their first in 1957 to their most recent in 2024, when they defeated the Dallas Mavericks in five games.
The use of gold is not new to Boston`s jerseys. Gold trimming was previously featured on their City Edition uniforms in the 2019-20, 2022-23, and 2023-24 seasons.
The Celtics have not yet announced when they will debut this new City Edition uniform during the current season.
