AS Monaco Basket Reorganizes Coaching Staff Amidst Crisis

Sports News

In a significant shake-up at AS Monaco Basket, coaching assistants, including those previously linked to Vassilis Spanoulis, have departed the club. As a result, coaching responsibilities will now be taken over by Georgian Manuchar Markoishvili and Ukrainian Sergii Gladyr. Lithuanian Sigitas Kavaliauskas will, however, maintain his role as the physical trainer.

Manuchar Markoishvili, 39, brings a wealth of experience, having been a high-level player for notable clubs such as Milan and CSKA Moscow. He also currently serves as an assistant coach for the Georgian national team.

These organizational shifts occur as ASM grapples with a profound period of crisis. The Monegasque club is scheduled to host Olympiacos this Thursday, having suffered seven defeats in its last eight EuroLeague fixtures, underscoring the critical nature of these recent changes.
