Arman Tsarukyan has articulated his reasons for regarding Ilia Topuria as a low-level competitor.
“Bryce Mitchell is the worst lightweight, and he knocked him down and held him from a crazy position. And I can say that Topuria is not a fighter of particularly high level. I think he is weak. I will send Topuria back to the top-15 pound-for-pound. He can be knocked down a thousand times because he will not try to choke or do something like that.”
Tsarukyan made these comments during an interview with Daniel Cormier, emphasizing his belief that Topuria lacks the necessary skills to be considered elite, pointing to Topuria`s previous fight against Mitchell as evidence of his vulnerability and lack of grappling defense.
