The legendary Anderson Silva has identified the most challenging opponent he faced during his MMA career.
According to Silva, Hayato Sakurai stands out as his toughest fight. He explained that facing Sakurai was his first experience in a title fight, which instilled fear in him. Recalling the lead-up to the fight in Japan, Silva shared that his teammates confined him to a room with only a television, where he was made to watch highlights of Sakurai`s fights. He became deeply impressed while watching Sakurai`s skills and learned a great deal about his fighting style.
Silva remembered that at the time, Sakurai had already defeated five Brazilian fighters. This fact intensified Silva`s apprehension, making him realize the magnitude of the challenge he was about to face against such a respected and skilled fighter.
