UFC heavyweight contender Jailton Almeida has publicly stated his willingness to move down to the light heavyweight division (205 lbs) to challenge current champion Magomed Ankalaev.
Addressing Ankalaev directly on X (formerly Twitter), Almeida wrote: “Hey, champion! I accept your challenge. I am ready to drop to light heavyweight and fight you for the title. Alex has regularly fought on short notice, but he has become too big for this. Now he does not need it, and I agree. How about you? I promise not to take you down, we’ll settle everything standing up.”
Almeida`s most recent octagon appearance was in January, where he secured a knockout victory over Sergey Spivak.
