UFC fighter Aljamain Sterling recently voiced significant doubts regarding the severity and authenticity of Tom Aspinall`s eye injury, which Aspinall claimed to have suffered after being poked by Ciryl Gane during their bout.
“Many might expect me to side with Tom, but that`s not where I stand. I have numerous reservations. Based on the post-fight footage, he appeared to be perfectly fine. Aspinall was evidently losing the match, and then he instantly declared, `I can`t see anything.` You simply cannot utter those words in a fight. We all know that`s essentially forfeiting the contest. If your intention is to utilize the full five minutes to recover and potentially continue, you absolutely cannot make such a statement. This makes me seriously question whether the pain was truly as intense as he claimed.”
