Aljamain Sterling has responded to the UFC`s decision to organize a second fight between Merab Dvalishvili and Sean O`Malley.
Sterling stated on his social media: “To be honest, the UFC will prioritize what benefits the business and their brand. Considering the events leading up to our first match, would I personally prefer an immediate rematch? Undoubtedly. However, I have a strong understanding of the business aspect, and O`Malley is a respectable competitor who has defeated several top-ranked fighters in the top 5. Therefore, I believe he has earned this opportunity after his victories against highly-rated opponents. If Merab wins against him again, then we will inevitably be looking at a trilogy.”
