At UFC Seattle on Saturday, Alexa Grasso delivered one of the year’s most striking finishes against Maycee Barber.
As Barber advanced with a combination, Grasso expertly unleashed a perfectly timed counter left, connecting cleanly with Barber’s chin. The powerful blow instantly sent Barber crashing to the canvas, allowing Grasso to swiftly take her back and lock in a choke.
Barber was rendered unconscious even before she fully hit the mat. Referee Mike Beltran promptly intervened, stopping the contest moments after Grasso had secured the rear-naked choke (RNC).
Official Result: Alexa Grasso defeated Maycee Barber via submission (rear-naked choke) at 2:42 of Round 1.
This decisive victory allowed Grasso to snap Barber’s impressive seven-fight win streak and simultaneously marked her return to the win column after experiencing a two-fight skid. It was Grasso’s first triumph since her memorable title-winning performance against Valentina Shevchenko in 2023.
